WOW! This is an emotional one.
On day one of launching Mindful Canine, we wanted to be the "Best of Iron County." It wasn't long into our journey that voting for the annual BOIC began, and what we needed to accomplish to reach that goal was always at the forefront of our attention. We saw that our community and (our world) needed more education and opportunity involving dogs. Though several years passed where we did not win, we never stopped trying. We never stopped building and dreaming and innovating to attain this goal, and finally this year we did it!!
Our number one priority has always been to improve the lives of dogs and their people, through affordable dog training and community involvement. When we named our company, it was based on the celebration of the moment where dogs understand and have shared clarity, understanding, and bonding with a human being. That "Aha!" moment where things just click. You know this moment when you see it and it is such a beautiful thing! We wanted everyone in our community to be blessed with this moment, having the most joy with their dog that they could possibly have.
We thought long and hard about how we could make this happen, and go above and beyond what was currently offered in our area. So we created diverse program options, from traditional dog training Private Lessons to comprehensive Homeschool to better personalize the training experience. We saw how much people needed a safe space to continue working their dogs after initial training around other dogs and people, so we opened up group dog training classes and dog pack walks this year with great support and success! We also wanted to hold space for people who wanted to take things to the next level with their dogs, so we invested heavily in our new GRC Dog Sports program to create the ultimate dog friendly community. We continued to do all we could for shelters, offering free consultations and dedicated both paid and volunteer time to local non-profit rescues shelters, as well as helped foster organizations get the word out about dogs ready for homes. We have poured thousands of dollars into credentials, continued education, seminars and more so that we can offer the most modern and humane methods available. We operate licensed, insured, and certified to go above and beyond our competitors. We want all people to have access to affordable dog training, and for those who cannot afford it we have tried to share as many free resources as possible through our social media channels. Behind the scenes we have done everything possible to run a tight ship to make the experience working with us easy, professional, productive, and pleasant as well as have a community business in good standing.
And while certainly we are not perfect and we have faced a million personal and professional challenges over this past year (not the least of which a very tough economy), we have worked harder than ever to grow. We have big plans to bring you even more opportunities to bond, train and play with your dog in 2025, so stay posted! All of these new wonderful things are a result of our community (YOU!) pulling together to help us keep this going. We appreciate so much all of the ways that you have been supportive to us and patient with us. We are so, so grateful to you all for choosing us as your trainer and investing in this dream we have so we can give back to our community. We will always do everything in our power to bring the best to you and your dog and always strive to be the Best In Iron County- and that is a promise! Regardless of if we win in the future, you can bet that this prestigious award is always in our sights.
